  6. Eat Right Campus: The 'Eat Right Campus' initiative led by FSSAI aims to promote safe, healthy, and sustainable food in various campuses such as schools, universities, colleges, workplaces, hospitals, and tea estates across the country. The objective is to improve the health of people and the planet and promote social and economic development.
  7. Benefits of Eat Right Campus: While adopting the Eat Right Campus initiative is not mandatory, it offers significant benefits. Safe, healthy, and sustainable food can reduce foodborne illnesses, deficiency diseases, and non-communicable diseases. This leads to less absenteeism, reduced healthcare costs, increased well-being, motivation, and productivity. It also enhances the prestige and brand value of the campus, attracting prospective students and employees. Additionally, it inspires other campuses to promote similar standards, contributing to overall national development.
  8. Certification Process: Upon enrollment, a campus undergoes a self-assessment or a third-party audit by an FSSAI-empaneled agency based on a checklist to identify gaps and areas for improvement. The campus administration then addresses these gaps and provides training for Food Safety Supervisors and food handlers through FSSAI's FoSTaC Programme. After improvements are made, a third-party audit is conducted, and the campus is rated on a five-star scale. A campus scoring three or more stars is certified as an 'Eat Right Campus'. The certification is valid for two years, with regular inspections to ensure quality control until renewal.
